The Writing Center is excited to announce the re-awakening of the campus student newspaper, the Antioch Voice. Submission deadline for the next issue is Monday, December 21, 2014.

The Voice seeks submissions from all fields and is interested to know what you are working on. The next installment will be cross-disciplinary with a focus on diversity, community outreach, social engagement, creative writing, art, and photography. Have a campus news story to tell? Send us a pitch, your story, or your opinion piece. Have a research project you’ve already written? We’d love to read it.

Our literary section is expanding…we’re looking for original poetry, nonfiction/essay, creative nonfiction, flash fiction, art and photography. The Antioch Voice is open to Antioch University Midwest students, faculty, staff, as well as students and faculty of the Antioch Writers’ Workshop.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Send all submissions to writingcenter.aum@antioch.edu. Place in the subject line “Voice submission” and indicate the genre. Please let us know if the item has been previously published and where, and include a bio or an optional link to other places where we can find your work. Use Times New Roman 12 point font and single-space all entries (with the exception of spacing your poetry).

Flash Fiction, Essay, Creative Nonfiction, and Research: 1,200 words or less (though we will consider excerpts of longer works).

Poetry: send up to 3 poems; 50 lines or less per poem.

Art and Photography: files should be under 5 MG. Pictures can be artistic or related to some element of student, campus, or community life.

*We do not offer payment at this time; artists and writers retain all rights to their work. Issue should emerge by February, 2015. Thanks in advance for sharing your voice with us.
